On 11 February 2024 we celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes holds profound significance in the hearts of millions worldwide, commemorating the extraordinary apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to a young peasant girl, Saint Bernadette Soubirous, in the small town of Lourdes, France, in 1858.

We started with the flag hoisting on the first day of the novena. During the 9 days, the sisters of Mount Carmels and the Jesuit brothers from De Nobili College introduced us to different methods of prayers. Many of the parishioners shared how they were touched deeply with the experience through the new ways to pray.
The feast day celebrations started with the rosary at 6pm followed by mass. In his sermon Fr. Roque guided us through a meditation of freeing ourselves from all thats holding us back to be completely available to say “Yes” to God’s will like Mary. After mass we had a procession around the church and brought down the flag.

As we honor Our Lady of Lourdes, let us draw inspiration from her unwavering faith and humility, and may her intercession continue to bring hope, healing, and blessings to all who turn to her with trust and devotion.
