Celebrating Mother Mary’s Birthday

This year, our parish celebrated the Novena to Our Lady of Good Health with the theme of the Sacraments. Each day, we reflected on how the sacraments draw us closer to God and to the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who perfectly lived a life of grace. The deacons shared their meaningful reflections on the sacraments.

As part of the novena, we embarked on a special walking pilgrimage to Khadki, deepening our devotion through prayer and reflection along the way.

On the Feast of Our Lady’s Birthday, the parish gathered for a beautiful celebration. The Feast Mass was led by Fr. Roque, who reminded us why we honor Mary, emphasizing that while we venerate her, we do not worship her, as worship is reserved for God alone. His message helped us reflect on Mary’s unique role in salvation history and her constant intercession for us.

After the mass, the congregation joined in a joyful procession around the church, showing our unity and faith as we honored Mary. The celebration concluded with the lowering of the flag and a community dinner, where we shared fellowship and gratitude for the many blessings received through the intercession of Our Lady of Good Health.

One response to “Celebrating Mother Mary’s Birthday”

  1. The novenas, in anticipation of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lady was very well planned and conducted. The theme, ‘Sacraments of the Church’ was well explained in the homilies presented by Deacons. The start and close was very well spearheaded by Frs Roshan and Fr Roque. A Community coming together and praying together, was truly experienced. May Our Lady lead us closer to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
