On 6th November, our confirmation batch set out for their retreat to Lonavala. Over the course of three days we had sessions by Fr. Roque which helped them get to know themselves better, find out what obstacles are preventing them from being who they feel God wants them to be, forgiving the hurt and pain caused by others and much more.
The highlight of the retreat however was the outreach programme where we visited a tribal village and gifted the adivasis blankets. They spent time visiting their homes, talking to them about how they live. Our children were moved to tears hearing them share their struggles and experiences. They realised that the adivasis were happy with the little they had and welcomed us to their homes with a smile on their face.
We all returned home filled with the spirit, ready to share with our loved ones all the experiences we had at the retreat. As Fr. Roque said at the closing mass, “Our retreat starts now, where we return to put into practice all we’ve learned about ourselves through the sessions on the three days”
